x/y is the additive inverse of c/d.

Therefore,
 \frac{x}{y}  +  \frac{c}{d}  = 0
 \frac{c}{d}  =  \frac{ - x}{y}
Therefore,

 \frac{x}{y}  -  \frac{c}{d}
 =  \frac{x}{y}  -  (\frac{ - x}{y} )
 =  \frac{x}{y}  +  \frac{x}{y}
 =  \frac{2x}{y}  \:  \: soln.
