we have,
x-y=x+y ÷7=xy÷4. (multiplying both sides by 28)
28(x-y)=4(x+y)=7xy
so
28(x-y)=7xy....(1)
and.
4(x+y)=7xy
28(x+y)=49xy....(2 ) (multiplying both sides by 7)

(2)-(1)
28(x+y)-28(x-y)=49xy-7xy
56y=42xy
56÷42=x
4÷3=x
1.333(aprox.)=x
