If x+y+z=12 and xy+yz+zx=25,then find x2+y2+z2?

Hi ,

x + y + z = 12 ----( 1 )

xy + yz + zx = 25 ---( 2 )

we know the algebraic identity ,

( x + y + z )² = x² + y² + z² + 2xy + 2yz + 2zx

( x + y + z )² = x² + y² + z² + 2( xy + yz + zx )

( 12 )² = x² + y² + z² + 2 × 25

144 - 50 = x² + y² + z²

Therefore ,

x² + y² + z² = 94
