x+z = 24 ---------(2)

adding ( 1) and ( 2)

2x = 24 + 3

2x = 27

x = 27 /2

x = 13.5

put the value of x = 13.5 in equation (2)

x + z = 24

13.5 + z= 24

z = 10.5
