 {x}^{2} + 1 = 3x - 1 \\ \\ {x }^{2} + 1 - (3x - 1) = 0 \\ \\ {x}^{2} + 1 - 3x + 1 = 0 \\ \\ {x}^{2} - 3x + 2 = 0 \\ \\ (x - 1)(x - 2) = 0 \\ \\ x = 1 \: and \: x = 2
