(x² - 1 + 1 +1 )/x is a perfectly feasible thing to do! now use x²-1 = (x-1)(x+1) to get the answer that is (x-1)/x = (27x-2)/(x+1)

or else if you are looking for actual answer solve for x using quadratic formula and plug in the formulation.
