we know that,

x²+y²-2xy = (x-y)²

so , now substitute the given values in equation
we get , => 29-2(2) = (x-y)²

=> 29-4 = (x-y)²

=> 25 = (x-y)²

=> √25 = (x-y)

=> 5 = (x-y)
=> -5 = (x-y)

hope this helps

 {(x - y)}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}    - 2xy
by putting you can find (x-y)^2=25
Then the value of x-y=5 or x-y=-5.

Thanks.
