(x+y)² =x²+y²+2xy
= 7+2*1
= 9
so x+y = √9 = 3

Hello friend!!!

The question asks us to find x+y

Square (x+y)

The result is

◆(x+y)^2 =x^2 + y^2 + 2xy

We know the values of (x^2 + y^2) & xy

Putting those values, we get

◆(x+y)^2 = 7 + 2×1 = 7+2=9

◆(x+y)^2 = 9

Now take the square roots of both sides,

◆(x+y) = √9 = 3

So the answer is 3

HOPE IT HELPS..... :-)
