the value of y = a cosc + b sin x lies between  -  \sqrt{a^{2} +  b^{2}  and  \sqrt{a^{2} +  b^{2}  }

so, the max value of this equation is  \sqrt{ 4^{2} + 5^{2} } = 41

neelimashorewala: * the equation is y = a cosx + bsin x as opposed to a cos c. it was a typo.
