Given :

The equation , y = 4 / ( sin θ + cos θ )

To find :

The minimum value of y .

Solution :

The value of the y will be minimum when the denominator ( sin θ + cos θ ) will be maximum .

The maximum value of ( sin θ + cos θ ) is √2 when θ = π/4 .

The minimum value of y = 4 / √2

=> the minimum value of y = 2√2

The minimum value of y is 2√2 .
