y =5 sin(100πt - 0.8πx)

compare this equation with

y =A sin (w t - k x)

(1) Amplitude (A)=5 m

(2) Frequency (f)

w =2πf

f = w/2π =100π/2π =50

(3) wavelength (q)

k =2π/q

q=2π/k

q = 2π/0.8 π =2.5

(4) wave velocity (v)

v=w/k

v=100π/0.8π=125
