Explanation:

formulas

d(sin ∅)/d∅ = cos ∅ _ _ _ (1)

d(cos ∅)/d∅ = -sin ∅ _ _ _ (2)

now,

dy/d∅ = d(sin ∅ + cos ∅)/d∅

= d(sin ∅)/d∅ + d(cos ∅)/d∅

= cos ∅ + (-sin ∅) ( from eq (1) and (2) )

= cos ∅ - sin ∅

put ∅ = π/6

→ dy/d∅ = cos ∅ - sin ∅

= cos π/6 - sin π/6

= √3/2 - 1/2

= (√3 - 1)/2

hope it helps
