HEY BUDDY...!!

HERE'S THE ANSWER..

_________________________

▶️ According to question , x is directly proportional to y i.e

=>
 x \: \infty  \: y \\  \\ x  \:  = \: k y
▶️ Here k is proportionally constant

=> Now ,

=> y = 6 then x = 72

=> k = x / y__________( 1 )

=> k = 72 / 6

=> k = 12

⏺️ If x = 8 then y = ?

=> by eqn 1

=> y = x / k

=> y = 8 / 12

=> y = 2 / 3

Hey there!

Given, y varies directly as x.

So, y  ∝ x.

that implies, y = kx

that implies, y/ x = k

Where , K is called proportionality constant.

Given,
If y = 6 , then x = 72 .

So, k = y/x

k = 6 / 72

k = 1/12 ... ( Equation 1 )

Now,
Given
x = 8

We know that,
k = 1/12
k = y/x

So,
 \frac{1}{12 }  =  \frac{y}{8}  \\ 8 \times 1 = y \times 12 \\  y =  \frac{8}{12}  \\ y =  \frac{2}{3}

Therefore, The value of y is 2/3 if x = 8
