If y = (x+2)/(x-1) (x ≠ 1,-2) then show that x =f(y).

Given, y = f(x) = (x + 2) / (x - 1) where ,(x ≠1,-2)

Now, f(y) = (y + 2) / (y - 1) 
                = [ { (x + 2) / (x - 1) } + 2 } ] / [ { (x+ 2) / (x - 1) } -1 ]
                = 3x / 3
                = x

Hence, f(y) = x
 hence proved.
