lets start reversely

we know results is 15/16

then now divide by 1/4 then result is=15/4

now remove 1/2 then result is 15/4-1/2=13/4

Answer:

(1/2+x)1/4=15/16

open the bracket and multiply 1/4 with both 1/2 and x.

1/2×1/4 + 1/4×x = 15/16

1/8+x/4=15/16

x/4=15/16-1/8

L.C.M. OF 16 AND 8 IS 16.

Multiply 1/8 by 2 in both numerator and denominator to make denominator 16

x/4= 15/16 - 2/16

x/4 = 13/16

x = 13/16 × 4

x= 13/4

ANSWER :- The number is 13/4.
