Answer: 1078.9 cm^3  is the volume of metal used in making axe.

Step-by-step explanation:

volume ( surface area * 2 ) of rectangular wedge= 2( 18.3 * 12)

                                                                                = 439.2 cm^3

volume of cylindrical part except hole = v =4/3 * π *r^3

=904.78 cm^3 (taking radius as 6 cm)

v =4/3 * π *r^3

=268.08 cm^3( taking radius as 4 cm)

=>904.08 cm^3 - 268.08 cm^3 = 636.7 cm^3

total volume of metal used = 636.7 cm^3 + 439.2 cm ^3

=1078.9 cm^3

where did u find this question from?? ;) took a lot time to solve it.........Well, hope it helps :)
