It has been a home to people of different ethnic groups, religion, culture etc. It consists of different language and culture which has been creating a rich and unique culture. The national identity of Nepal has been dependent on the cultural and ethnic diversity. Nepal is a multi-religious country in the world so different ethnic groups live with their own way of religious practice, lifestyle, language, culture, tradition and spirit.
Nepal has many historical and cultural heritages that should be included in world heritage sites list. I would like to mention JANAKI MANDIR(JANAKPURDHAM) to be included in UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES.
At the heart of Janakpur lies the marble Janaki Mandir, one of the grander pieces of architecture in Nepal, and the city's must-see sight. Janaki is the Hindu Temple.It is also named as Nau Lakha Mandir by the locals as the cost for the construction of the temple was nine lakhs. Queen Vrisha Bhanu of Tikamgarh, India built the temple in 1911 AD. . It is bulid with bright white and constructed in an area of 4,860 sq.It was the capital city of the kingdom of Mithila in the past. Mithila was the capital of the Videha (bodyless) spiritual Janakas, the rulers who were the embodiment of spiritual attainment. Legend has it that Sita, heroine of the Hindu epic Ramayana, was born here and later married the equally revered Lord Ram. Sita, who was the wife of the legendary hero Rama of the epic ‘Ramayana’ was born in Janakpur. A great centre of learning for scholars in ancient times, Janakpur once had hundreds of sages who contributed substantially to Hindu philosophy.
