The needle on the compass that normally points toward the north pole of the Earth will move toward the magnet's south pole.

The magnet will align to North-South direction. The pole facing geographical north will be north pole of the magnet as the earth's magnetic south pole is geographical north pole and the side of your magnet facing towards south will be the south pole of your magnet.
