You can use more than ONE HUNDRED techniques to identify whether a given solution is acidic or basic.

But I'm going to suggest five techniques by which you can identify whether a given solution is acidic or basic.

1. Using Litmus papers. Litmus paper will turn blue if solution is acidic or it will turn blue if it is basic.

2. Using Magnesium ribbon. As we know Magnesium do not react with bases so hydrogen gas will produce when Magnesium is dipped in an acidic solution.

3. Using Baking Soda. We know baking soda doesn't react with bases so, a brisk effervescence will produce if the solution is acidic.

4. Using pH paper. If pH is below 7 or reddish then the given solution is acidic and if pH is higher than 7 or bluish then the solution is basic.

5. Using NaOH solution. As we know NaOH can only react with acids so, if a chemical reaction occurs then the solution is acidic and if nothing occurs then the solution is basic.

I hope this will help you.
