if you are given some iron filings and a bar magnet, describe how you would find the poles of the magnet.

First I will spread the iron dust over the paper.Then I will bring the magnet under the paper.And it will create a pattern.The dust will be lined up according to the magnetic field created around the magnetic.Then You will be able to find the poles.It was an experiment by Michael Faraday or Volta I can't remember..
