If you are standing at (-1/2) and take five jumps to left, what will be the number? Also what will be the number when you add its additive inverse to the number you got after jumps?

Answer:

i) (-11/2) or -5 1/2

ii) (-5)

Step-by-step explanation:

i) Taking 5 jumps to the left means subtracting by 5

So we get--> (-1/2)-5

                   =(-1/2) - (10/2)

                   =(-1/2) + (-10/2)

                   =(-11/2) = -5 1/2

ii) Additive inverse of (-1/2) is 1/2

  So we get --> 1/2 + (-5 1/2)

                    --> 1/2+ (-11/2)

                       =(-10/2)

                       =(-5)

Hope this helps

i) (-11/2) or -5 1/2

ii) (-5)

i) Taking 5 jumps to the left means subtracting by 5

So we get--> (-1/2)-5

=(-1/2) - (10/2)

=(-1/2) + (-10/2)

=(-11/2) = -5 1/2

ii) Additive inverse of (-1/2) is 1/2

 So we get

= 1/2 + (-5 1/2)

=1/2+ (-11/2)

=(-10/2)

=(-5)
