Wear strong shoes (not thongs) and tough clothing for protection. Lock doors; turn off power, gas, and water; take your evacuation and emergency kits. If evacuating inland (out of town), take pets and leave early to avoid heavy traffic, flooding and wind hazards.

During a cyclone:-

•Turn off all electricity, gas and water; unplug all appliances.

•Keep your emergency kit close at hand.

•Bring your family into the strongest part of the house.

•Keep listening to the radio for cyclone updates.

•If the building begins to break up, shelter under a strong table, bench or heavy mattress.

Steps I would take :-

1). I would install a cyclone radar within the international sea borders so that people can be alarmed before the approach of a cyclone.

2). I would escalate all the endangered people out of the Red Zone before the cyclone touches the coast.

3). I would ensure every injured citizen gets proper treatment without any fee hike.

4). Every refugees will be provided with proper sanitation and feeding facility.

5). I would ensure that proper amount of NDRF and Relief Forces are deployed in the area.

6). I would analyse and make sure that no heavy damage happens in the next disaster.
