Swamps are never a good site for any structure, stability is often a problem that affects the integrity of a building. However, with urban scarcity of land,a swampy area at locations in a city has to be dealt with for stfuctures to rise edfor investment.Soil test determines the tyle of foundation to b adopted. If unsuitable layer is at a top lecel of grade strata only, unsuitable material is removed. A layer of rocks are laid at the bottom pit where stable earth is at rest and quality fill material is recommended contained by a perimeter reinf concrete retaining wall . In deep swamps, poling works are to be considered which of course entail cost.
