Answer:

Let us understand the fate and attitude.

Fate means something that is destined to happen (pre written by god). You cannot change it.

Attitude is how you perceive, interpret or receive the information or events happening around us that influences us.

Once something has happened you cannot change it. So we say it was destined to happen. Since you cannot change the event that has happened, you can only change your attitude or how you perceive that event.

For example, in an unfortunate accident a person loses his legs. He, on the hospital bed, can cry over the unfortunate loss and think about all those things which would have avoided that accident. He would take the event negatively and may get into the state of hopelessness. He would ask himself why me? and get into a state of depression. His attitude towards life would become negative.

On the other hand, he can look at the bright side. God has given him another opportunity to live, see his loved ones and spend time with them. He would ask what next? and the things he can do to bring his life back on track. He would think about the things he could do to support his family and live a life with dignity and a life that contributes to society. His attitude towards life would become positive.

He can’t change his fate, what has happened to him so he can only change his attitude towards being positive.

‘If you can’t change your fate, change your attitude’ makes sense.
