Although a part of your question is missing, you may be referring to this full question:

If you collect 1/4th part of a red ribbon , your brother has taken 2/7 part of your ribbon, then calculate the remaining part of your ribbon.

Given: You collect 1/4 of a red ribbon and your brother takes 2/7th part of your ribbon.

To find: Remaining part of your ribbon

Solution: Length of ribbon taken by you= 1/4

Part of ribbon taken by brother

= 2/7th of the 1/4th part

= 2/7 of 1/4

= (2/7) × (1/4)

= 1/14

Length of ribbon left

= Part originally with me - Part taken by brother

  = \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{1}{14}

LCM of 4 and 14= 28 which acts as the denominator.

 =   \frac{1 \times 7 - 1 \times 2}{28}

 =  \frac{5}{28}

Therefore, 5/28 of the red ribbon is left with you.
