Given :- If you construct △ABC with m∠A=40° , m∠B=50° , and m∠C = 90°, Which statements about the triangles are true ?

1) BC > AC

2) BC < AC

3) BC < AB

4) BC > AB

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Side opposite to larger angle are larger in length .

we have,

→ ∠A = 40° => Angle opposite to BC .

→ ∠B = 50° => Angle opposite to AC .

→ ∠C = 90° => Angle opposite to AB .

then,

→ ∠C > ∠B > ∠A .

therefore,

→ AB > AC > BC .

hence,

  • 2) BC < AC .
  • 3) BC < AB .

(2) and (3) statements are correct about the triangle .
