Question
A cylindrical tank is 1.5m in diameter and 2 meter in height. It is placed on an elevated platform which is 10 meters above the ground level. A 3.5 cm diameter GI (Galvanized Iron) main pipe is connected to the bottom of the tank which runs vertically to the ground level and then runs horizontally. 3 vertical branch pipes of diameter 2cm are connected to the main pipe at 5m, 7m, and 12m horizontal length of the main pipe and the main pipe is terminated and closed after 12m length. All the three branches are connected to taps fitted at 3.5m height.
Calculate How much time each tap will take individually to fill up a bucket of 40 litres when
1. Only one tap is open at a time
2. All the taps are open simultaneously
Assume that the overhead tank is almost full at all times.
