Hey friend,

Here is your answer:

A turmeric stain formed on our clothes when there is a spill while having food, turns red if it is washed off with detergent or soap.

This happens because turmeric contains an acid and a compound called cucumine. And soap and detergent contain sodium hydroxide which is a base. So, when an acid and base reacts, neutralization reaction takes place where the stain becomes neutral.

Here are a few methods to remove turmeric stains:

1. Dry detergent

Use a dry detergent bar and rub it on the stain. Let it settle for sometime. After that rinse it and let it dry.

2. Vinegar

Rinse the stained area with soap and water. Then use a liquid soap and allow it to set. Rinse the stain and then apply vinegar to remove the residue stain.

3. Lemon

The stained area should be rubbed with lemon and then dried in sun till the stain fades away. After that, it can be washed normally.

4. Hydrogen Peroxide

This is the best chemical used to remove fabric stains. The stained area must be soaked in hydrogen peroxide and then must be rinsed thoroughly.

Hope it helps u.
