Represent 2.564 on the number line by using successive magnifications ?

Solution :-

Steps:-

  • Draw a line horizontally or vertically and mark zero in the middle of the line.

  • Write positive numbers on the right side. and negative numbers on the left side to the zero on the number line.

  • In 2.564 ,there are 3 digits after decimal. So We have to draw four lines .

  • First encircle the place in between 2 and 3. Be cause 2.564 lies between 2 and 3.

  • And draw another line and write the numbers from 2.1,2.2,..and round of the place in between 2.5 and 2.6

  • and draw another line and write the numbers from 2.5 and write 2.51,2.52, 2.53 ,...and round off the place in between 2.56 and 2.57.

  • And draw one more number line and write the numbers from 2.561, 2.562 , 2.563,...and round off the number 2.564 and write the arrow mark above the number.

  • The number line is also called Real number line.
