If I'm not wrong, this phrase 'If you got a tooth you got a friend' was used in the chapter 'Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth' by Pam Ayers.
Here, Teeth is compared to a friend. As in, For cavity free and healthy teeth you need to keep proper hygiene and good eating habits; Similarly, For true friends you need to take care of them, be kind, helpful, Value them, be there for them, and most importantly Be a good friend to them too.
Although, The whole chapter had no link with friends. The comparison is made and only one thing is brought out further- Value whatever you have today. If you don't, you might not have it tomorrow.
Be it teeth, friends, education, money, house, family, eyes, nature etc..Value each of them everyday like they won't be there for you the next day.
