if you had a chance to interview a celebrity what would you ask
Answers
Answer:
I have a friend who regularly interviews celebrities and public figures for a Hollywood publication. He always asks them, "Of the many things you do, which one makes your heart beat the fastest?" I like that this question could refer to many different kinds of emotions: joy, excitement, outrage, etc.
When I myself interview such people, I often ask if they have any big messages to share with the world and wrap up by asking if they would like to share something they have never told any other interviewer. That way I can be sure to go out with a bang and include at least one unique piece of information for my readers at the very end of the interview.
If they don't seem comfortable with big picture questions, I switch over to queries about tiny technical details. This works especially well with chefs and fashion designers, for example. If the chef does fusion cuisine, I ask about the flavorings and techniques used that make it special. If the designer makes purses out of vegan leather, I ask what that is made out of.
Comparison and contrast questions usually stimulate more creative thought. If the subject has moved to LA from a different part of the country or world, I ask what their experience has been in both places. If they do two things like dance and fitness training, I ask how they are similar and different.
I always try to do my homework and make connections between the past and the present. If there seem to be common themes in a n earlier movie and a later television show, I ask about that. If someone is reprising a Broadway role off Broadway many years later, I try to find out if they are taking a new approach.
Sometimes I ask what their dream project would be either inside or outside their industry. This can lead to less conventional opportunities for them when the interview is circulated.
Mainly I just want to get people talking and tell me things outside the usual box. I don't want my interviews to be just like everybody else's. I prefer to keep things very professional and let the celebrities offer the personal details unless it is something that is all about the personal like the Royal Wedding.
