--act boldly
--make her stand about things crsytal clear
--make the children realise that they need to respect their parents
--put forth her wishes as an individual
--instill the idea of reciprocation in all the family members
*Another method to teach her family a lesson could have been to go on a vacation, leaving other family members languishing in her absence, realising her importance in their lives and feeling grateful for her efforts in the household work.
