If you happen to settle along the road, how would this affect you?

If I happen to settle along the road, I wouldn't get proper shelter, protect, food and other things.

Constant exposure to sun can make you ill and cause skin cancer. Pollution on the road will cause bad health. More dangers of dying :'(

Body of water (transportation routes, water for drinking and farming)
Flat land (easy to build)
Fertile soil (for crops)
Forests (timber and housing)
