Let number of apples = x

number of oranges = y ,then

number of bananas =100-(x+y)

Total cost of fruits = 5x+3y+(100-x-y)/40

100 = (200x+120y+100-x-y)/40

199x+119y+100 =4000

199x+119y = 3900 or x=(3900–119y)/199……(1)

Now on putting y=1,2,3,4,5….. in eq.(1)

x=(3900–119)/199=3781/199=19 (a whole number.)

Number of apples =x = 19

Number of oranges =y = 1

Numbers of bananas =100-(x+y) =100-(18+1)

= 100 - 20 = 80 . Answer.
