Answer:

1) Viruses are considered between non-living and living . When a virus doesn't comes in contact with suitable living bodies they are just like non-living but when they contact with living organisms they multiply quickly and they start acting like a living organisms . Therefore , they are considered between living and non-living . 2) When a body that contains viruses comes in contact with other living body or some non-living body they spread in that different body . that's how they the viral diseases spread .

3) We can take precautions to prevent the spread of viral diseases by :-

1. Not coming in contact with viral bodies .

2. Increasing our immunity by eating healthy food .

Viruses possess characteristics of both living and non living

Living- multiplication, nucleic acid, primitive metabolism .

Non living- does not respond to stimulus, inert outside the body of host, no nucleus, can be crystallized.

They spread through:

Direct contact fomites ( eg common cold rhino virus, influenza, Corona virus)

Mosquitoes and other insects ( dengue, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis)

Water ( hepatitis A virus)

Sexual contact ( HIV)

Trans placental - mother to foetus ( rubella HIV)

PRECAUTIONS:

vaccination is the main ( vaccines for JEV, rota virus hepatitis A are included in our national vaccination program)

Eradication of mosquitoe breeding sites, using repellants nets etc

Consuming clean water food

Avoiding unprotected sexual contact

Vaccination of expected mothers
