If you place a glass test tube in water, you can see the tube. If you place it in clear soybean oil, you may not be able to see it. What does this indicate about the speed of light in the oil and in the glass?

Answer:

It means the difference of refractivity. The higher refractivity, the bigger changes of the direction of light moving, and the lower of the light speed. most of oil has higher refractivity than water.

Answer:

This happen due to the difference in refractivity .

Explanation:

If Refractive index is more speed will be less and refractive index less speed will be more because wavelength (lamda) is inversely proportional to to refractive index
