If you put some sugar crystals on dry tongue but it never tastes against the palate you can sense it taste it .why?

Hey buddy, the question is
"If you put some sugar crystals on dry tongue it never tastes but if you press it on palate you can sense taste why ?"

You see, when we keep sugar crystals on our tongue, the crystals don't get absorbed by our tongue.The palate exerts pressure which pushes the sugar crystals down and then it touches the taste buds present in our tongue.

So , we are able to taste the sugar crystals.
