If you're given a statement of sodium carbonate being neutralized by hydrochloric acid, how would you be able to draw a balanced equation based on those facts?

Answer:

Sodium Carbonate is a metal carbonate whereas Hydrochloric Acid is an acid. When both react, neutralisation reaction takes place and metal salt, water and Carbon Dioxide are formed.

Balanced chemical equation:

Na2CO3 + 2HCl —> 2NaCl + H2O + CO2
