Because we have to face the consequences of the mistake we have done and sometimes apart from the person who has done the mistake, some other people also has to face it's consequences. Let me give you an example, suppose there's a mechanic and one person comes to him to get his car’s brake repaired, the mechanic repaired them and the person sat in his car and drove off. When he reaches a few yards away, he saw a little child in front of his car, he pressed the brakes but the car didn't stop and it hit the child, the child dies on the spot. A mistake by the mechanic in repairing the brakes affected so many people. We are always taught that human beings can do mistake but no one tells that you also have to face it's consequences. May be this is the way we learn from a mistake, because if we do a mistake and nothing happens we won't ever realize that we have have done something wrong until and unless it has affected us.
