Your answer is ---

Let, the number be x

Let, we subtract 1/2 from x and the resultant be y .

Since, multiply the result means y by 1/2 get 1/8.

Now, write this situation in equation , we get

x - 1/2 = y .......(1)

y × 1/2 = 1/8

=> y = 1/4

put this value in equation (1), we get

x - 1/2 = 1/4

=> x = 1/4 + 1/2

=> x = 3/4

Hence, the number is 3/4

Heya...........!!!

_______________________________

According to the question , we are subtracting 1/2 from a number ( say a ) , we will get something by subtracting ( say b ) .

so , equation formed. :-

•--» a - 1/2 = b ................ ( i )

Then , we multiply the result ( b ) by 1/2 and get the answer 1/8

•--» b × 1/2 = 1/8

from this equation we can take out the value of b :

---» b = 1/4

putting the Value of b in equation ( i )

•--» a - 1/2 = 1/4
--» a = 1/4 + 1/2

♦ The Number is => 3/4
