(i) Carbon-di-oxide gas is liberated.

Answer :

When we take a pinch of sodium hydrogen carbonate powder in a test tube and add drop by drop of acetic acid to it then sodium acetate and carbonic acid is formes and then carbonic acid decomposes into water and carbon dioxide.

The balanced chemical reaction will be,

NaHCO_3(s)+CH_3COOH(aq)\rightarrow CH_3COONa(aq)+H_20(l)+CO_2(g)

This is a double replacement reaction.

The two main observations are :

1) carbon dioxide gas is liberated.

2) formation of water.
