If we apply oil, then we reduce friction. Friction is the resisting force. When it decreases then the surface becomes smooth and objects drops down easily. So glass slips down.

We hold any substance due to friction between hand and glass. Similarly due to ‘friction’ between floor and feet, we can walk easily.
If we hold a ‘glass with oil’ on your hands, there will be less friction due to less adhesive force between glass and oil. Here adhesive forces are the attractive forces between unlike molecules or surfaces.
Hence, less friction is the reason for the slippery nature oil and glass.
