#If a plant is uprooted from the soil, then its leaves wilt due to unavailability of water.

#Leaves require water and they get that from soil through roots.

#But if the plant is uprooted and the roots no longer absorb water and nutrients and hence leaves do not obtain water.

#This results in wilting of the leaves.

i think that the water present in the root cell gets reduced why? because xylem vessel vessel absorb the water to supply it other parts
by the process of osmosis another reason is that root cell does not contain water because it is frequently absorbed by the xylem vessel and supplied to other parts like cells of leavea
