NN'll MM'

make a transverse between N AND M line such that it passes through x and divides it into two parts. this transvers is parallel.to both NN' and MM'

see the angle O side( opp. to x°)

in fig. angle 1=40° and angle 2=30° ( alternate angle)

angle O= angle 1 + 2=40+30= 70°

so angle O =70°

now x=360-70

x=290°

see the figure attached

Given:

NN' PARALLEL TO MM'

40°ANGLE

30° ANGLE

CONSTRUCTION:

draw a line AB passing through O and parallel to NN' AND MM'

SOLUTION:

ANGLE N'OB = 40° ....... ALTERNATE INTERIOR ANGLE

ANGLE M' OB = 30°......,.. ALTERNATE INTERIOR ANGLE

NOW, X°= 360° - ANGLE N'OM'..,.....

360° - ( 40° + 30°)

360° - 70°=290°

Therefore, Angle X= 290°
