Thanks Dustin for A2A.

It is simple; you are the best judge about a thing concerning you. You know what should be done and when should it finish. Doing right the first time is achievable when human errors do not go on compounding.

Basic idea is to oversee the ongoing activity ourselves. Whenever that has not been done, or a trusted subordinated delegated that power is not overseeing properly, there is a big mess up.

When I was in active service, I did not use to spoon-feed them; I had induced a habit in teams under me to refer back fast for quick and timely decisions while posting me about the progress. That compensates for ‘doing it yourself’.

Such quotes are mostly very helpful and serve as guidelines. One is urged to have their own set of rules to gain the maximum advantage.
