b. Two convex lenses. All types of lenses create images by refraction and are usually made of glass. They are held at the ground level so that the surfaces are either planes or segments of spheres.
If it is a convex lens, parallel light rays will fall on it from a distant object and it will bend them so that they meet at a single point which is known as the focal point.
The total distance from the lens till the focal point is known as the focal length. All types of refracting telescopes make use of two main lenses.
The larger lens is known as the objective lens while the smaller lens is used for looking at the object. It is also known as the eyepiece lens.
