If I had been given a potted plant to demonstrate that it loses water by the process of transpiration we have to conduct an experiment

Explanation:

  • empty pot is to be taken to demonstrate the control experiment. On the other hand the potted plant is taken and it is covered with a dry piece of polythene packet.
  • Now it is is observed that the polythene packet became wet and their droplets of water which can be seen on the polythene packet due to the transpiration that took place. However in case of the control experiment this is absent. Hence the water came from the plant.
