Dear Diary

Conquering the Everest is not easy for everyone, however if one does, it is moment to feel proud of. In the beginning, I too like others thought that it is impossible to conquer Everest. Mount Everest also known as Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan bestrides the border between Tibet and Nepal at the peak of the Himalayan mountain chain. Reaching the top of the peak is a gruelling and potentially deadly undertaking because of the extreme altitude, icefalls, avalanches, and other dangers.

Above 8,000 metres, it is known as the death zone, since breathing becomes a highly complicated task as the pressure drops to 1/3rd of what it is at sea level. From that point on, there is no way for the human body to adapt to the extreme environment, and it can only be sustained for a restricted time period. But if one had succeed in doing that, I feel that the secret of success was in that individual’s good preparation and diligence. This is teaches us that we must plan well and remain focused and determined in what we want to accomplish. God helps them who help themselves. Therefore, if we do not take the efforts and only depend on luck then, we cannot easily succeed.
