Given :-

Ratio of me and my brother :- 4:3

Age of the brother :- 30 years

To Find :-

The age of mine

\:

How to do :-

Here, we are given with a ratio of me and my brother's ages. The brother's age is also given i.e, 30 years. The given ratio is 4:3. We should find the age of me. In this ratio, the number 4 refers to my age and the number 3 refers to my brother's age. So, according to the ratio the number 3 represents 30. So, first we should convert that ratio given to the fractional format by replacing the first number as numerator and the second number as the denominator. The age should also be represented in the same manner. So, let's solve!!

\:

Solution :-

{\tt \leadsto 4:3 = x:30}

{\tt \leadsto \dfrac{4}{3} = \dfrac{x}{30}}

We can find the value of 'x' by cross multiplication method.

{\tt \leadsto 4 \times 30 = 3 \times (x)}

{\tt \leadsto 120 = 3 \times (x)}

{\tt \leadsto 120 = 3x}

{\tt \leadsto x = \dfrac{120}{3}}

{\tt \leadsto \cancel \dfrac{120}{3} = \boxed{\tt x = 40}}

\Huge\therefore My age is 40 years.
