Well, by definition a “surprise” three day paid break would come with no advance notice, so there’s be no chance to plan to do something. In that case, I’d probably do what I do on any given three-day holiday weekend. Sit around the house, maybe binge-watch some shows I haven’t had time to watch, go shopping with an eye to cooking something special, maybe go out to eat one day in that period, or maybe visit some local attraction (the zoo, a museum, etc.) that I haven’t visited in a while..

If I got notice enough ahead of time (but then the break wouldn’t be a “surprise”), I’d make plans to travel to visit my daughter and granddaughter who live in another city.
